Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on managed hosting, adding or removing services, what your own clients see when they log in, flat-rate pricing, data ownership, and country availability — no sales call required to find any of this out.
Adding & Removing Services
Can I add more services later without starting over?
Yes. Every service runs on the same shared-core deployment — one practice, one login, one set of records. Turning on Hospital, Boarding & Grooming, Shelter, Equine, or Livestock on an existing deployment activates the new service against your existing patients, staff, and history — nothing gets migrated, duplicated, or re-entered.
What happens to my data if I remove a service?
Removing a service turns off that service's own screens and stops billing for it. The shared-core data it used — patients, staff, appointments — stays intact, because shared-core owns that data, not the individual service.
Is there a limit on how many services one deployment can run?
No. All six services — Vet Practice, Hospital, Boarding & Grooming, Shelter, Equine, and Livestock — can run together on a single deployment if your practice needs them.
Your Clients Get a Login Too
Can my clients book online, see their records, and pay their bill?
Yes — every service includes a portal for your own clients, at no extra cost. What they can do there depends on the service. Pet owners see records and vaccine history and can request an appointment or a refill. Boarding & Grooming takes online booking requests — your staff still approves every one, nothing books itself — plus deposits, saved cards, and grooming report cards with photos. Hospital shows hospitalization status, discharge instructions, and lab results, and lets an owner approve an estimate remotely. Shelter runs adopter and foster applications, e-signatures, fee payment, and follow-ups. Equine covers records, Coggins, health certificates, movement paperwork, e-signing, and payments. Livestock gives farm clients withdrawal and milk-discard dates, treatment records, and drug lot numbers.
What about clients who won't use a portal?
They don't have to. Nothing in Vivetra requires a client to log in — your team can do all of it from the staff side the way they always have. Hospital also has a print-and-scan-back path built in: print the form, hand it over, scan the signed page back in, and it lands on the same record the portal would have written to.
Can I put any of this on my own website?
Shelters can. Vivetra Shelter publishes a public adoptable-animals listing and a public donations page — no login for the visitor, both embeddable on the shelter's own site, and both fed by the same records your staff already maintain, so there's no second listing to keep up to date.
Can a barn manager or trainer see only the horses at their facility?
Yes. Vivetra Equine has facility-scoped access grants: a barn manager gets read-only access to the horses stabled at that facility and nothing else — not the owner's other horses, not another barn's.
Pricing
How much does Vivetra cost?
Your first service is $200/month — that one price covers shared-core plus that service, unlimited doctors and staff, and fully managed hosting, all included, not itemized as add-ons. Each additional service adds $50/month to the same bill. See the pricing page for the full bundle table across all six services.
What does the price actually include?
Unlimited doctors and staff on every plan — there's no per-seat fee anywhere in Vivetra — plus fully managed hosting: Vivetra handles updates and uptime, and you can export a full copy of your own data at any time. There's no separate hosting bill and no server for your practice to run.
What if my practice wants all six services?
All six services on one deployment — Vet Practice, Hospital, Boarding & Grooming, Shelter, Equine, and Livestock — is $450/month, still with unlimited staff and managed hosting included in that price.
Can my clients pay their bill through Vivetra?
Yes. Your practice connects its own Stripe account, so you keep your own Stripe relationship and your own processing rates and the money settles to you — we don't resell you someone else's processor. Once it's connected, your clients can pay bills, estimates, and deposits online. Saved cards are live in Boarding & Grooming, Hospital, Shelter, and Equine; Vet Practice takes a full balance today and doesn't store cards yet; Livestock has no online-payment feature at all, on purpose. A small Vivetra platform fee applies on top of Stripe's own rate. (The checkout on this site is separate — it's how you pay for your own Vivetra subscription, not how your practice collects payment from its clients.)
Does the price ever go up?
Occasionally, roughly every two years, on a small, fixed schedule — never a surprise mid-cycle increase or a retroactive charge on an invoice you've already received. The figures above are today's rates; see the pricing page for how it works.
Where Vivetra Is Available
Which countries is Vivetra available in?
Vivetra is built for six countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Start on the signup page to get your practice set up, or contact us directly if you'd rather talk it through first.
What if my practice is outside those six countries?
Get in touch and let us know — we'll follow up as soon as Vivetra is available in your country.
Your Data, Your Ownership
Is my practice's data ever shared or combined with another clinic's?
No. Every Vivetra deployment is dedicated to a single practice — your data is never commingled with any other customer's, whether in a shared database or otherwise.
What happens to my data if I ever leave Vivetra?
It's yours, and it's fully portable. Because each deployment is dedicated to your practice rather than pooled in shared multi-tenant infrastructure, there's no entangling to undo first — you can take a full export with you.
Vivetra Services, One By One
Is Vivetra right for a general small or medium veterinary clinic?
Yes — Vivetra Vet Practice is the flagship service: day-to-day scheduling, charting, and records for a general small-animal clinic, at one flat price with no per-seat fees.
Does Vivetra work for a referral, specialty, or ER hospital?
Vivetra Hospital is built for referral, specialty, and 24/7 ER teams, and can run alongside Vet Practice on the same deployment as your practice grows.
Does Vivetra handle boarding, grooming, and kennel operations?
Vivetra Boarding & Grooming covers run/kennel scheduling, grooming, and online booking requests from your clients, plus a direct bridge into a real vet chart for medical aftercare.
Is there a service for animal shelters and rescues?
Vivetra Shelter covers intake through adoption on the same shared-core records as your clinical services, so shelter and general-practice data never live in two separate systems.
Does Vivetra support equine practices?
Vivetra Equine is built for ambulatory and hospital-based horse practices, including ownership-share (syndicate) billing.
Is there a service for large-animal and livestock vets?
Vivetra Livestock pairs an individually-ID'd clinical patient chart with a group/lot VFD ledger in one product.
