Where we're honest about the gap
StableTrack ($199–299/mo, vendor-confirmed) ships one thing today that we don't: automatic multi-stop mileage and route splitting built directly into billing, so a single farm-call route bills its travel cost across every stop without a manual step. Vivetra doesn't have that yet — we've deliberately deferred it past v1 rather than ship a rushed version, and a practice that leans hard on automatic route billing today should know that going in.
HVMS is the other name every equine practice already knows — current vendor pricing is $385/mo flat site license plus $175/mo per revenue-generating vet, plus a one-time $6,000–6,500 implementation fee. It can run on-prem or in the cloud, and it already has a UK presence alongside its US base. That's a real, mature footprint, and a per-vet fee plus a five-figure implementation cost is exactly the kind of bill Vivetra's flat price and included setup is built to avoid.
ezyVet has a genuinely useful feature for this segment — Syndicates, which links co-owners to a horse at a configurable ownership percentage and auto-splits invoices along that line, a close cousin of what our own co-owner billing does. ThoroVet, Cassadol Equine, and ImproMed Equine are the other established names in this space, each with years of equine-specific use behind them. Hippo Manager markets to equine practices, but its feature set underneath is the same general small-animal toolset — we didn't find dedicated equine-specific depth behind that positioning.
Two more things we tell every prospective customer upfront: there's no built-in payment processing inside Vivetra itself — your practice is never locked into a specific processor or a per-transaction cut on your clients' payments — and we're a new, unproven vendor next to competitors with real years-long track records. Both are true, and neither is a footnote.

Does Vivetra split mileage or travel costs across a multi-stop route?
Not automatically, not yet. You can bill travel and farm-call fees per visit today, but the automatic route-splitting that divides one trip's mileage across every stop on it — the way StableTrack's billing does — is a capability we've deliberately deferred past v1 rather than ship it half-built. If that's a must-have for how your practice bills today, it's worth knowing before you switch.
