Livestock and mixed-animal practice runs on two kinds of record at once: an individually-ID'd patient chart for the cow with the difficult calving or the bull under a breeding soundness exam, and a group-level ledger for the 200-head lot that just went on a VFD feed additive together. Most software picks one side — a clinical PIMS that treats a herd like 200 separate patients, or a farm-ops tool that tracks the group but has no real patient chart underneath. Vivetra's Livestock service runs both in the same deployment: a genuine per-animal clinical chart alongside a GIN-based (Group/Lot Identification Number) VFD ledger for group-administered feed medications, so a compliance officer and a treating vet are reading the same record, not two systems that have to be reconciled by hand.

The question a producer opens this to ask at six in the morning
“Can this animal go on a truck today, and can this milk go in the tank?” Everything else on this page matters. That one decides whether a load gets turned away at the plant and whether a tank gets dumped.
Vivetra's Livestock service includes a client portal your farm clients log into themselves, and the first thing it puts in front of them is a withdrawal board: every pen and every individually-identified animal on the operation, with anything currently inside a withdrawal window flagged as such. The dates come straight off the treatments your vets actually recorded — not off a number somebody wrote on a whiteboard after the truck pulled out of the yard.
Meat-withhold and milk-discard dates, per animal and per pen
The clear date is derived from the treatment record your vet entered, so there's no second log the farm keeps by hand and no arithmetic done twice. If the treatment happened, the date is there.
Individual and group treatment records
Every treatment — given to one identified animal or administered across a whole pen — with the date, the drug, and the dose, visible to the client whose animals they are.
Drug lot numbers and a medicines-used log
The lot number on the bottle is recorded with the treatment, and the medicines used across the operation are logged as a list. A recall notice or a residue investigation becomes a lookup instead of an archaeology project through a year of paper.
Herd records, exportable by the client
A farm client can pull their own herd records out as a file — for a processor, a buyer, a QA audit, or their own filing — without your office producing it for them each time.
Read-only, and no payments, on purpose
This portal is a record, not a counter. Clients can see what was done to their animals; they can't edit a clinical record, and there's deliberately no online payment here. Livestock billing doesn't look like consumer billing, so we didn't pretend it does.

Any treatment with a meat or milk withdrawal period is tracked per animal or per group, with the clear date flagged against marketing or milk-pickup schedules — the record a processor or auditor asks for first.

A single animal keeps a real clinical history — exams, treatments, breeding records — while a GIN-based ledger tracks Veterinary Feed Directives issued to a whole group or lot at once. Same deployment, same database, no export-and-reconcile step between a clinical view and a compliance view.

Every Veterinary Feed Directive is logged with its issue date, expiration, and the species/production class it covers, with the statutory expiration ceiling enforced right at data entry — not a paper form filed in a drawer until an audit asks for it.

Every ranch or farm call for the day lives in one list — herd checks, pregnancy exams, vaccination rounds — logged and chartable from the truck between stops instead of a separate paper route sheet.

Where we're honest about the gap
AgriWebb is the name every large-scale grazing operation already knows — Sydney-founded in 2013, with vendor- and press-confirmed on-platform coverage of more than 25% of Australia's grazing animals. AgriWebb has agreed to be acquired by URUS (announced May 2026, pending close, expected Q3 2026) — a real, near-term consolidation in this space, though not yet a completed deal. That's production-scale grazing-management depth Vivetra doesn't claim to match; our lane is the vet-facing clinical chart plus VFD compliance ledger, not whole-ranch grazing and pasture management.
GlobalVetLink is often assumed to be VFD-only, and that undersells it — its FeedLINK product is the VFD-focused piece, but the wider platform also issues eCVI health certificates, EIA test records, and prescriptions. It's best described as an animal-health compliance and certificate bolt-on, not a full practice-management system — a practice using it still needs something else underneath for the actual clinical chart, which is exactly the gap our combined chart-plus-ledger approach is built to close.
Herdwatch, which acquired the Irish vet-PMS VetDrive in January 2026, is structurally the closest analog to what Vivetra is trying to be — individual and group herd management in one product, serving 20,000+ farms out of Roscrea, Co. Tipperary. It just isn't shaped for the US market or built around VFD compliance specifically, which is the gap this service exists to fill for US, Canadian, UK, Irish, Australian, and New Zealand practices.
CattleMax (producer-facing farm apps since 1999, 8,000+ ranches) and Performance Livestock Analytics /Feedlot Health Management Services are a different category entirely — production-metrics and consulting tools for producers, not vet-facing practice management, so we don't count them as direct competitors. ImproMed and Vetspire are established general large-animal PIMS options worth knowing about if VFD-specific tooling isn't your priority.
Two gaps we state plainly rather than gloss over: a large commercial feedlot already paying for Performance Livestock Analytics or Feedlot Health Management Services isn't going to drop those production-metrics and consulting tools for a compliance ledger alone — Vivetra is built to coexist alongside that kind of tooling, not replace it. And we can't confirm what VFD or group-treatment capability, if any, sits behind DairyComp, PCDART, or Cow Sense's enterprise/veterinary-partner logins — that's outside what public research can verify, so we're stating it as an acknowledged unknown rather than claiming those three lack VFD or group-treatment features.
Two more things we tell every prospective customer upfront: this service has no payment feature — its client portal is a records surface by design, so your practice keeps billing its farm clients however it bills them today — and we're a new, unproven vendor next to competitors with real years-long track records. Both are true, and neither is a footnote.

Will Vivetra replace what our feedlot already uses for production metrics?
Probably not, and we'd rather tell you that upfront. If you're a large commercial feedlot already running Performance Livestock Analytics or a Feedlot Health Management Services engagement for production metrics and consulting, Vivetra's Livestock service isn't built to replace that — it's built to sit alongside it, covering the vet-facing clinical chart and VFD compliance ledger those tools don't focus on. Most practices that adopt us for this service are looking for the compliance-and-chart piece, not a production-analytics replacement.
