StableTrack or Vivetra Equine: which flat-priced equine system fits?

Updated November 2026. Every competitor claim links to its public source.

The short answer

StableTrack is an equine-only practice system from Asteris, a Valsoft subsidiary 1, at a flat $199 a month with unlimited users 2 and an AI note assistant 3. It leads on QuickBooks sync, AI SOAP notes and imaging links 4.

Vivetra Equine is a newer equine service at $200/mo flat with unlimited staff, on a dedicated managed server. Price isn’t the difference. Vivetra leads on breeding and reproduction records, owner-portal depth, and adding other services (livestock, hospital, small animal) to the same system.

What Vivetra Equine offers

  • Co-owner and syndicate billing. Split an invoice by ownership share, or bill an owner group as a single payer.
  • Farm calls. Group visits under one stop at a yard or location, and let owners request a call from the portal.
  • Offline record capture. About 18 equine forms queue while you’re out of signal and sync later: Coggins, health certificates, pre-purchase exams, breeding forms, quarantine, owners and pedigree.
  • Breeding and reproduction. Stallion book, semen collection and shipments, embryo transfer, heat cycles with prediction, pedigree, and a printable reproduction summary.
  • Movement documents. Coggins and health certificates (US/CA); UK/IE horse passports; Australian Hendra declarations.
  • Owner portal. Records, documents, invoices, saved cards, e-signing, visits and breeding info. Owners can grant a yard manager read-only access, and every grant is logged.
  • Other services on the same system. Add Livestock, Hospital, General Practice, Shelter or Boarding for $50/mo each.

Where Vivetra falls short

  • Travel and call-out fees don’t reach the invoice. You can record a flat, mileage or hourly fee on the farm call, but it isn’t billed automatically.
  • No automatic vaccine or Coggins reminders to owners. Expiry dates feed a recall list, but nothing sends it for an equine-only practice.
  • No QuickBooks or other accounting sync.
  • No AI note drafting.
  • Clinical notes, farm calls and invoices need a connection.
  • No VAT on equine invoices yet (matters for UK and Irish practices).
  • No native app, and we’re new.
