Looking for a Vet Radar alternative for treatment sheets?
Updated November 2026. Every competitor claim links to its public source.
The short answer
Vet Radar is IDEXX’s patient-care software for hospital sheets, whiteboards and anaesthesia charting 1. It syncs with ezyVet 2 and is priced from $215 a month 3. If you’re on ezyVet and happy with it, Vet Radar is the native fit.
Vivetra Hospital is a newer practice management service with inpatient treatment sheets and a ward board built in, at $200/mo flat for the first service with unlimited staff. If you want sheets and the practice system in one product at one price, it’s worth a look, with the limits listed below.

Switching from ezyVet and Vet Radar
Moving off your old system is the scary part, so we do it. You check everything in a copy before anything goes live. Free for Founding Clinics; for everyone else we quote per system.
- Export from your current system. We send written steps for yours.
- We load it into your own Vivetra server.
- You look it over in a test copy, at your own pace.
- Go live on a quiet day you pick.
What Vivetra Hospital does
- Admission to discharge. Admit, transfer, discharge or record a death, with structured discharge instructions released to the owner’s portal.
- Treatment sheet. Recurring orders on an hourly grid, scheduled up front. Each treatment shows overdue (red), due this hour (yellow), done (green) or skipped, and every check-off records who did it and when. Corrections are allowed and kept.
- Medication orders with an allergy check at order time.
- Fluids and CRIs drawn as a bar across the hours they run, with rate-change history and bag changes.
- Vitals, including critical-care values.
- Ward board. Every admitted patient grouped by triage acuity, with code status and overdue counts. The board refreshes itself.
- Code status (CPR/DNR) with full history, plus anaesthesia records and shift handoff notes.
- Owner updates. Staff publish status updates to the owner portal, optionally with vitals and today’s care, and email/SMS notices go out.
- Estimates that clients sign online or on paper and staff convert to an invoice.

Where Vivetra falls short
- The treatment sheet doesn’t update live. The ward board refreshes itself, but another person’s check-off appears on the sheet when you reload it.
- No offline charting on the sheet. Some hospital forms (orders, code status, anaesthesia) queue offline; check-offs, vitals and CRI entries need a connection.
- No cage or kennel location on the board yet.
- No printable treatment sheet.
- No push alerts for due treatments. Overdue counts show on the board and dashboard.
- No automatic charge capture. Treatments don’t flow to the invoice; billing comes from estimates or manual lines.
- Controlled-drug check-offs don’t write to the register automatically. The sheet flags controlled drugs and points staff to the log.
- We’re new, with no comparable track record.
